It's Saturday and I'm feeling liberated. Today I did not turn on my computer. This may seem like a small thing but the computer is a time eater. Once I'm in front of it I feel compelled to check my email, I don't know why. Goodness knows I can flip through my snail mail and leave it on the table until I'm in the mood to deal with it, this may take days. Email demands that it be opened and of course that leads to taking action on it, even if the action is no action, I read the contents at a minimum. Then there is the enticing link within the email which leads to another link and so on; and several hours later I'm still on the email screen. As my husband says, TMI, too much information!
Today I did what I wanted to do and that is crochet. I'm working on an eight pocket carry-all tote. If all goes well I'll sell it on Etsy - when I get my shop up and running. I feel great, you might even say liberated.

Fountain Pens
Fountain pens a wonderful. They write like rollerballs but better. I’ve had a long love affair with fountain pens. The best kind to buy is the one you fill yourself from an ink bottle. I have Sapphire Blue, Rose Pink, Emerald Green and Topaz Brown and there a million more colors and quite a few companies that sell ink, not to mention pens.
http://artbrown.com and http://www.xfountainpens.com are two sites I use. There you’ll find all sorts of pens ball point, rollerball, pencil as well as fountain; and inks in all kinds of yummy colors. There’s a price, as they say, for every pocket, as well as accessories – pen display stands and boxes to proudly show off your purchases.

Big Horn Sheep
I was watching Sunday Morning and at the end of the program they showed big horn sheep pawing the snow, looking for dried grass to eat while chewing their cuds (I think they have cuds?). It was quite relaxing and put me in a dreamy state of mind. When I get this way I find that my creative muse is turned on. Consequently, I start imagining what sort of projects I'll be working on. Today is a good day for imagining because I have no projects left to finish.
Since I am, at this point, a "fiber artist" I feel the need to create something that looks pretty and is functional as well. So, I think it's going to have to be a market bag. To read more about market bags go to Crochet & Knitting Place and take a gander at what's cookin' there.

Gusty Winds
The weatherman said this is the gustiest day our area has had in five years, winds up to 60 mph. As I sit here looking out of my living room window I watch as the dead leaves of winter blow past, kicking up little whirlwinds that go skidding across the drive. The sun is trying to blaze bright but it's still winter and the best it can manage is a soft, weak smile.
I'm enjoying the view as I work on a crocheted market bag, feeling virtuous that I'm using recycled cotton yarn and that it's a pretty mix of sunny yellow, orange marmalade and cool grass green. I'm going to put it in my Etsy shop when I get the store front up and running. They say crocheting is therapeutic and I would have to agree with that.
Meanwhile, my cat, Mandy, is blissfully curled up into a tight ball, snoring like a freight train, not a care in the world until dinnertime.
